Not only is M2K professional but it offers a personal touch as well. When buying instruments or equipment from their shop you feel you are in trusted and honest hands when asking for advice and making that purchase. More importantly to us, the lessons our children attend go above and beyond. The quiet confidence that our daughter now exudes comes not just learning to play the keyboard, but from her tutor Ron and we can’t praise him enough. Building the belief that she is capable of making music and tackling complex pieces has brought our daughter out of her shell to the point where she is happy to perform in front of an audience and this has spilled over into other areas of her life as she realises that the only barrier to doing something is herself. John was inspirational to our son when he learned to play guitar, encouraging him to reach for his dreams so that he formed a band and John would show support by attending gigs as far afield as the Birmingham O2 Institute. Without these lessons he wouldn’t have been able to do the university course and start forging a Career in something that he loves doing. Both Ron and John didn’t just make sure that music is taught to pass an exam but encouraged our children to explore and learn to play what they enjoy listening to and, for my son, to be creative in making his own music. We really can’t recommend M2K enough.

Our daughter has been attending M2K continuously for the past 9 years learning to play the piano. She has progressed through the grades and will be doing grade 6 next. I find M2K to be a friendly music school and always willing to be flexible to meet our needs. Our daughter has flourished musically which is down to the school and the outstanding music teachers they employ. Our experience is that the teachers challenge their students and keep them motivated while teaching at a pace the child is comfortable with. We feel the discipline she has learned at M2K of working hard and practicing has also helped her at school with other subjects. As we live in Wolverhampton we feel very fortunate to have both the M2K school and the M2K retail (MUSIC 2000) shop in our local community."

I started online lessons with Ron Jones in May 2020. This was a lockdown project to better my piano skills. I did have prior musical knowledge from studying music as a Classical Soprano and Bassoon player (Grade 8 and Grade 5 respectively) but my piano skills were awful. I felt I had no coordination. Ron has a warm, welcoming manner and we established a rapport quickly- this is a skill which cannot be taught and is particularly hard to master through a computer screen. Ron really listens to what and why an adult learner wants to learn. He is happy to adapt and doesn't push his agenda but listens to the learner and sets out a lesson to the wishes of the adult. Ron sourced music I was interested in, pushed and encouraged when I needed it and his use of praise is wonderful. I had some bad news recently in which a member of my family is very poorly, I hadn't told Ron as he was my 'little bit of normal' during stressful weeks. He was and is a rock! M2K is a lovely music school, all staff I've been in contact with are friendly and approachable. They have devised two online Facebook concerts in which lots of time, patience and effort was made to edit the clips of players to make the event as near a real concert as possible. M2K is a great family of musicians I am proud to have started my piano journey with them. (and hope to come back as soon as I can...AND hope my son can join when a space becomes available).

Since the imposed lockdown we have continued to engage in our weekly Music 2000 lessons for our children. Teachers video call at the normal time and teach our children as they would do face to face for the full half an hour lesson. They are still able to guide, listen and encourage. Both of my children have really enjoyed regular contact via this teaching method. In fact I would argue that their musical skills have improved and certainly not suffered due to lack of face to face contact. We are all very grateful to the staff at Music 2000 who have continued to deliver these lessons and it is great to continue to support this local business.

Its been nearly ten years since my first ever keyboard lesson with M2K. I still remember how nervous I was having no previous experience . Being nine at the time, I really was unsure about what I liked and if music was even my interest . Thankfully, I had the most amazing Keyboard teacher! Learning the keyboard has been a very pleasant and eventful journey and I have M2K to thank for that, (in particular Sophie Cole). I would definitely recommend M2K to anyone interested in learning a new instrument. Once again, I want to thank Sophie Cole in particular for my experience, as she and others have helped me get where I am now in music (grade 7).

Dilan has been at M2K Music School for over 10 years having just achieved a Distinction in his Grade 8 Keyboard Exam. He has thoroughly enjoyed his lessons over the years and the challenge of preparing for his exams. Ron his music teacher for the last six years has encouraged Dilan to practice and develop a sense of discipline. Dilan has been able to broaden his appreciation of music, in particular been taught the different genres of music styles. Ron has always been flexible about lessons during school exam periods. Many thanks to Steve and Sophie for running a local professional music school, which enables students to not only develop their passion for music but also improve their social interaction skills too. Wishing M2K and all staff much success for the future.
